Bowe Back From Visit

At 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, Miami (Fla.) Norland standout wide receiver Dwayne Bowe is back from his visit to Miami and he's excited about what he saw.

"Man, Miami's all about winning championships, graduating, and playing in the league," Bowe said. "That's what UM is all about. I know it, you know it, we all know it. I won a state title with Norland this year and it felt really good to me and I want to keep winning titles like that when I'm in college. That's why I like UM so much."

Bowe said he roomed with fellow wide receiver Andre Caldwell during his visit.

"Andre and I roomed together," he said. "We was chillin all weekend together with Dre [Johnson] and some of the guys. We all tight like that. They say Andre's the best receiver in the country. We'll have to see about that. I hope we play together because it'll give each of us good competition and that's how you become better in football."

Football isn't something that's always been a part of Bowe's life.

"Man, I was doing things I didn't need to be doing," he said. "I used to be in fights all the time and stuff like that. My life changed when Coach [Dunn] pulled me from the halls and told me about football. It really changed my life around."

The standout receiver said he hung out with several other recruits this weekend.

"Caldwell's thinking real hard about Miami," he said. "But he hasn't made a choice yet. The local guys like Moncur, Clifton Dickson, Leo Waiters, they were all out there. Some tall dude from Texas was telling me he's interested. I saw Ernie Sims again and he said he liked it. And there was a DB from Jacksonville named Dee. He said he's thinking about coming."

So when will Bowe make his decision?

"Well I'm going to Florida State from Tuesday to Thursday," he said. "Then from Friday to Sunday, I'm going to Florida. Then the following weekend is LSU. I need to take my trips to see what else is out there but it's looking good for UM right now."

Bowe said the highlight of his visit was meeting with Coach Coker at the end.

"Coach Coker basically asked me what I was going to do," he said. "He told me that if I want to win championships, graduate, and then play in the NFL then it should be a pretty easy decision. I was like 'yeah, I like all that, you know'. But I didn't commit yet. I'll do that after my last visit when I know for sure where I'm going."

Bowe said if he picks UM, he plans on making an early impact.

"With Dre gone, they need some receivers to step up," he said. "I know they got some young ones now that are pretty good but if I go there, they're going to have to deal with me. They better be willing to out work me because that's what it's going to take. I want to go in and start ballin right away because I ain't about to watch someone else do something I want to be doing. That's why I will outwork anyone else. You name the time and place and I'll outwork him."
