Hankerson: I'm more confident than ever

Leonard Hankerson is having an excellent fall camp so far. Read on to see what he was saying after last night's practice.

Q: How did you do in Saturday's scrimmage?
A: It went well. I caught two touchdowns. I was still disappointed because I could have had three, but I let one slip away.

Q: Describe the touchdowns?
A: One was a 15 yarder from Jacory in the endzone. I just grabbed it in the back corner. The other one was on the first play. Jacory hit me with a short pass and I broke a tackle and took it about 70 yards.

Q: Is this the highest your confidence has been at Miami?
A: Yeah it is. I feel like it is all coming together now. I am a junior now and it is time for me to step up.

Q: What do you think of Coach Whipple so far?
A: He is a really good coach. He knows a lot about offense and we are working on things I have never run. He talks a lot about timing and finishing plays.

Q: How has Jacory been doing?
A: He is doing really well. He has really stepped up as a leader and is playing great.

Q: What do you think of all the talent at receiver on this team?
A: We have a lot of talent. We have a lot of different type of receivers. We are all working well together. I am the oldest of the group so I am trying to lead the way.

Q: How is Sam Shields doing at corner?
A: It is weird seeing him there after being at receiver with him for a while. He is a great athlete though. He is flying around out there and making plays.
