Harris can't wait to start the season

Brandon Harris is really looking forward to the start of the season. He talked about a number of things following practice on Sunday evening.

On his confidence level:
My confidence level is high right now and it's about to peak as the season begins. I'm on perfect track in my development right now.

On how the defense did in the scrimmage:
I think the defense did real well. We tackled well, didn't give up any big plays. We wanted to focus on that. I think we did real well.

On his own progress:
I'm coming along well, working with some other corners, going out after practice every day and getting better. I'm spending more time in the film room than on the field so things are coming together well now. I can't wait to get on the field (to start the season).

On Sam Shields:
I don't see how people are surprised that Sam is doing as well as he's doing. We knew he'd develop into a great corner. That's why the coaches made the move. We expected him to play as well as he's playing.

On the first four games of the season:
We're very excited. We look at it in a positive way to start the season. We'll take it one at a time and once we get over the hump, the season should flow.

On the team's confidence level:
A lot of it is experience. We're a young team but we have a lot of sophomores who started six games last season. In college, it's not really what year you're in but how much you've been in.

On his current weight:
Actually, I gained 10 pounds. I'm in more athletic shape, working with Coach Swasey over the summer, working on definition. I gained weight but I got a lot faster and a lot quicker.
