"Coach Soldinger came by to see me about two weeks ago," Walker said. "I was sort of surprised because that's when Miami started recruiting me. He even told me they have a scholarship open for me. He asked if I was interested and I told him I'm definitely interested."
Walker, who had over 800 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns this season, received a visit from UM wide receivers coach Curtis Johnson yesterday.
"Coach C.J. basically talked about what's going on," he said. "He said they really like me and the way I play. We talked about my visit there this weekend and what to expect. He told me they'd love to have me."
So what does the talented wide receiver think about the Hurricanes?
"I mean, that's Miami," he said. "They have always been known for producing great receivers. Ryan Moore went there last year from up here. It's a good situation."
Walker has narrowed his list down to three schools -- Miami, Central Florida, and Ole Miss.
"I went on those other two visits and I really like their programs," he said. "UCF is right close to home. I think I have a chance of starting real early. The coaches have been real nice and I think I fit in real good. At Ole Miss, I thought it was tight. We hung out with some of the guys and it's a cool place."
Walker, however, said his decision will most likely come down to two.
"I want to stay in Florida and plus I wasn't feelin the overall atmosphere at Ole Miss," he said. "It'll probably be out of UCF and Miami. I know everything about UCF already and I'll check out Miami this weekend. East Carolina and Clemson want me to come the following weekend but I don't know if I'll even go anywhere then."
Walker was a standout in the CaliFlorida Bowl earlier this month. Walker talked about that performance.
"Me and [Dwayne] Bowe were ballin," he said. "We kept arguing about who finished with more yards. I still think I got him (laughing). He's tight though."
Walker was asked about the possibility of playing together with Bowe at the next level.
"I know he's thinking about Miami too," he said. "That's OK though. We'll play together. I think they're trying to get two receivers this year anyway."
The standout receiver will be making the drive to Miami this Saturday with his parents.
"I gotta take the SAT in the morning," he said. "We're leaving right after that and hopefully I'll know where I'm going sometime next week."
