LB Talks About Visit

At 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds, Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade Madonna standout linebacker Glenn Cook took his official visit to Miami this weekend and he said a lot of the focus was on trying to convince other recruits to join him as a UM commitment.

"It was nice," Cook said. "I am so tired right now. I got seven hours of sleep the last two nights combined. I got to hang out with some of the players, like Kellen Winslow. They're all good guys. Plus there were a bunch of recruits hanging out."

Cook said he had a chance to spend time with several of them.

"We were all hanging out together," he said. "You could tell that everyone was getting along and having a fun time together and everything."

The standout linebacker spoke about some of the recruits that were on the visit.

Six Louisiana recruits - "There were six of those guys. There were some receivers, some DBs, and three defensive linemen. The defensive linemen told me they were coming to Miami and when I talked to their moms today, they said they're OK with that but they don't want to announce it yet to avoid the hype. I thought that was great because I heard they're real good players. I hung out with them and had fun, especially with Vegas."

Earl Everett - "He was just chillin. His mom came too. He said he likes Miami a lot and he's trying to decide between UM and Florida. He said Florida said he could play right away but he knows about Miami losing all those guys next year. I hope he comes."

Joe Cohen & Reggie Nelson - "Joe and Reggie were hanging out together. They loved it. Joe said it's down to Miami and one other school, either Florida State or Florida and Reggie said he wants to play college with Joe."

Ofa Mohetau -- "He was a big dude from Texas. He seemed to love it here. He's from Texas but I know he's strongly considering [Miami]."

Ali Highsmith -- "I met him in California. He's real cool and I'm pretty sure he's coming."

During the weekend, Cook met with defensive coaches to discuss the depth chart. He talked about that.

"After this year, they have Rocky, Leon Williams, and Buck Ortega but Buck's a special teams guy mostly. They'll need someone to step up and I think I can be that guy. I'm going to work harder than anyone else. There's no pressure."
