Everett Enjoys UM Visit

At 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds, Bushnell (Fla.) South Sumter standout linebacker Earl Everett made his official visit to Miami this weekend with his parents.

"I had a great time in Miami," Everett said. "They liked it too. My mom really enjoyed it. She said it was better than she thought it was going to be. She really doesn't care where I go, just as long as I'm happy."

Everett said the highlight of his visit was hanging out with several current players.

"My host was DJ Williams," he said. "He's real cool. He's going to be playing in the NFL after this season coming up and he said they're going to need someone to replace him. Vilma, Beard, there were a bunch of guys just hanging out. The players are real cool. They're my kind of guys, you know."

Everett said he also got a chance to hang out with some fellow recruits.

"It was weird because it was like a little reunion from the CaliFlorida Bowl," he said. "I saw a lot of those guys out there, like Pata, Cook, Highsmith, Reggie, Willie, and Dave. We were all hanging out."

The talented linebacker said he got to meet with UM head coach Larry Coker.

"He's real nice," he said. "It was goo talking to him again. The coaches just said how much they liked me and how much they'd love to have me. I told them what I was thinking."

So what is Everett thinking right now?

"It's still equal between Miami and Florida," he said. "They both were great visits and I really can't go wrong with picking either of them. Florida gives me a chance to play early and I liked how the players and coaches are at Miami. It's going to be a tough decision and I don't know how I'm going to make it."

Everett said although he may have a decision before then, he'll announce it on signing day.
