DL Returns from UM Trip

At 6-foot-6 and 265 pounds, Miami (Fla.) Braddock standout defensive end Tranell Morant took his official visit to Miami this past weekend and enjoyed it.

"The best part was hanging out with all those great players," Morant said. "Miami's got a bunch of great players and they're always hanging out. I like how they're close like that."

Morant said he got a chance to hang out with some of the players that are currently there.

"Guys like Vernon Carey, William Joseph, Jerome McDougle, Andrew Williams," he said. "They're all good guys. We were all just having fun."

Morant said he also saw several other recruits on the visit with him.

"I saw your boy Pata," he said. "He was just being himself. I also saw that dude Dave [Howell] and some other guys. There was a defensive lineman from Louisiana that told me he's going to Miami, but I can't remember his name because there were like three or four of them there."

Morant said he had a chance to review the depth chart at UM and likes what he sees.

"Miami needs defensive linemen real bad," he said. "They just lost a lot of guys and they need some more to fill in. I like that and plus they're close to home. It's a good situation."

Morant said his decision will come down to the Hurricanes and Gators.

"I'm going to decide between those two," he said. "I'm going to announce it on Wednesday. I like them both. Miami's got a lot of good things but so does Florida. It's a hard decision."
