Watson Talks About Visit

At 6-foot-4 and 280 pounds, River Ridge (La.) John Curtis Christian standout defensive tackle Ryan Watson made his official visit to UM this weekend, while teammate Carnell Stewart went to Oklahoma State instead.

"I went and I had a good trip," Watson said. "I'm really tired now. Really tired. I didn't get a whole lot of sleep the last few nights."

Watson said he had a chance to see the school up close for the first time.

"I heard a lot about it and everything but I got to see it for myself," he said. "I liked it. The environment is really nice and the facilities were great. But anytime you have great players, it doesn't matter what else is going on and that's what they have at Miami."

Watson got a chance to hang out with several players on his trip.

"I hung out with a bunch of guys," he said. "I saw some other guys from Louisiana on my visit and we hung out with some of the current players. I saw William Joseph, Orien Harris, Jonathan Vilma, and other guys like that."

So where does this visit leave Watson in terms of making a final decision?

"I'm almost there," he said. "I needed this weekend to help. I'm going to sit down and think everything over and hopefully I'll know at the end of the week."

Watson, who declines to name a favorite, said the Hurricanes join LSU, Southern Cal, Colorado, and Florida on his final list.
