Figs: We gotta clean up our mistakes

Joel Figueroa is one of the six main guys Miami's been using on their offensive line through the first three games. Read on to see what he's saying about the running game, the Va Tech game, Oklahoma, and more.

On the rankings:
I haven't really paid attention to the rankings and everything. I just try to go out and play and make sure the team is on the same page.

On OU playing for the title the last time here:
I definitely think about that. It's still early in the season. We just gotta try winning games one at a time.

On the OU game in 07:
I was hurt so I didn't play in that game. But they were not great memories, I can tell you that. Now we got a chance. Now I'm playing so I can't wait.

On the lack of a running game:
It's on us, it's execution. We gotta keep on the little things, listen to our coaches. Across the board we've been messing up here and there. The small things, like technique, we gotta clean those things up.

On being 93rd in rushing offense:
To tell you the truth, I don't even look at stats. That clouds your judgement on how you play. I gotta go at it like I've been doing since I was a little kid and just focus on winning games and punishing the guy in front of you. I feel like we can run the ball when we want to. It's just been little mistakes here and there and we gotta clean those up.

On OU DT Gerald McCoy:
He's a great player. He demands double teams, things like that. We're looking forward to playing against him. He's a good player and I just can't wait for the game.
