DL Down to Two

Miami (Fla.) Braddock standout defensive end Tranell Morant has narrowed his list down to two schools and is getting closer and closer to a final decision.

"I'm going to have a press conference at my school on Thursday to announce my decision," Morant said tonight. "Since I'm going to be the first player in my school's history to sign a Division 1 scholarship, they wanted to do a little something with it."

Morant said he's got his list down to two at this point.

"I've told the coaches at Georgia and Auburn that I won't be coming to their schools," he said. "It's going to be between Miami and Florida. I really liked them both."

The standout defensive said he likes a lot about both programs and had more time to reflect back on his visits to both schools.

"They both stood out to me," he said. "They're both great programs. I really can't go wrong with either of them but I have to make a decision and I'll let everyone know on Thursday."

Morant said he had a chance to spend some time with some other recruits during his visit to UM this past weekend -- including some that Morant believes will end up at UM.

"There was a big guy from Texas that's probably going to end up at Miami," he said. "And I talked to that guy Joe Cohen. He's real cool and I think he wants to go to Miami too but they said they haven't committed yet."
