"I know where I'm going," Pata said. "I've made my decision but I'm going to wait until Wednesday to tell everyone. We got the signing day thing going on so that's when everyone will know where I'm going."
Pata has his list of schools narrowed down to three -- Miami, Rutgers, and Florida.
"Man, they're all good places," he said. "I really liked my visits to all three of them. Rutgers is doing some really good things. They're a couple recruiting classes away from taking it to another level. I have a chance to be part of a turnaround there. At Florida, they're bringing in a great class and I had a really fun time on my visit there. The coaches are nice and I really like the players. At UM, it's close to home and I have a chance to play pretty early. They need some defensive ends and I'm one of the guys they like."
The standout defensive lineman wouldn't give any hints as to where he might be leaning.
"Like I said, some people might be a little surprised at what I do on Wednesday," he said. "I might even surprise my mama."
