Canes still in the mix for DB commit

This talented prospect just committed to another school today but told CanesTime.com that he still plans on visiting Miami. What's he saying about the Canes? Read on for all the details.

Marques Dixon told Scout.com Monday afternoon that he has committed to Tennessee. The standout defensive back prospect from Decatur (Ga) SW Dekalb is still on Miami's recruiting radar, however.

"I committed to Tennessee but I still plan on taking a visit to Miami on the 29th," Dixon said. "Me and T.J. Stripling are going. If they can't convince me to change my mind then I'm gonna stick with Tennessee."

Dixon, 5-foot-10 and 185 pounds, talked more about his interet in the Canes.

"I like them a lot," he said. "They have a lot of tradition of putting guys into the league. Coach McGriff and I have been talking and I plan on going down to check things out."

Stripling, a teammate/friend of his, is a 4-star defensive end prospect currently committed to Georgia.
