DB: I want to be a Part of the 'Canes Family

Gainesville defensive back Devont'a Davis made his official visit to Miami this weekend and came away impressed. Read on to see what he had to say.

Devont'a Davis made a commitment in October to the University of Miami and took his official visit there this weekend.

"It went real good, I loved it," Davis said. "I can't wait to make it official."

What did Davis spend most of his time doing?

"On my official I was with the players most of the time and just hanging out and doing some of the things they do around the city. We went to go eat a lot and we went to a couple clubs that were real fun. We also hung out at their house."

Davis also spent some time with the coaching staff.

"I was just trying to get a bond with most of them and they were kind of doing the same. We were just walking around and laughing, it was fun."

Davis was hosted by DeMarcus Van Dyke and saw many similarities between himself and Van Dyke.

"He was a real cool dude. Kind of reminded me of myself a little bit, it was good."

Davis took the visit in with several other players and made friends with a few of them. "Storm Johnson is my boy, Travis Williams, Kacy Rodgers. It really felt like all of us had played together in high school."

Davis has one more visit scheduled to USF next week, but claims he is solid with his commitment.

"That's pretty much it. I'm pretty solid. I'm going to be a 'Cane. I want to join the 'Canes family."
