Brown leaving Miami

CanesTime.com has confirmed that sophomore linebacker Arthur Brown is transferring from the University of Miami.

Arthur Brown was the nation's number one rated linebacker recruit two years ago. It was considered a huge get for the Canes at the time.

Two years into his college career, Brown has made little impact on the field for the Canes and has fallen behind the depth chart to some of the other young linebackers.

Heading into the spring of his third year in the program, Brown was expected to push for a possible starting role but it appears senior Colin McCarthy will be the man in the middle for the Canes this season.

Three other linebackers from that same recruiting class -- Sean Spence, Ramon Buchanan, and Jordan Futch -- have made bigger impacts so far. Spence has been a starter since day one while Buchanan and Futch both have starting experience and will compete for a starting spot beginning in the spring.
