Blackman Withdraws from Miami

CanesTime's David Villavicencio was able to track down outfielder Ted Blackman. Check out the latest scoop on the young outfielder.

Ted Blackman is no longer a member of Miami's baseball team after officially leaving the University of Miami on Wednesday.

"I'm out of the school," Blackman said. "I withdrew yesterday."

The outfielder was expected to be a key contributor for the Canes after hitting .273 with four doubles and 13 RBI as a freshman last season.

Blackman made the decision to withdraw recently and already has plans on how he will continue his college baseball career.

"I'm going to head to JUCO for next year and then go to FSU," Blackman said.

University spokespersons did not reply to e-mails and phone messages at the time of this report.

David Villavicencio is a reporter for CanesTime.com.
