No timetable for backup QB

Read on to see what head coach Randy Shannon was saying after practice today.

On Stephen Plein:
He's put on a lot of weight and he's doing well. It's a work in progress. He's young and he has a bright future here. It's always the physical part, the hitting and the banging.

Aside from Spencer Whipple, any more scholarships:

On naming a backup QB:
I really don't know. A lot of things can happen between now and the season opener. That's why I don't like to make too many decisions. We don't put too much emphasis on it. There's a starting point but you never pencil someone in. You can say he's 2nd team and then come in the fall and have a bad camp and then he isn't 2nd team anymore. We may make a decision but it's just a starting point.

On Adewale Ojomo:
He's back to the same old ways, up to about 250, strong like he was before. He's back to the old Wally. He's always aggressive, back to the same way.

On Patrick Hill:
He hasn't missed one thing. He's doing all the drills, all the teams, we're not holding him back on anything. He's full go.

On Jacory's participation this spring:
All he does is individual drills. He does footwork drills because you can get lazy on that. Throwing wise, no. Coach Whipple is gonna coach him.
