Interview: Jamal Reid

Read on to see what redshirt freshman safety Jamal Reid was saying following Tuesday's practice.

On playing safety:
I'm just playing safety now. They're trying to get me to learn plays.

On what he's been doing:
I'm just trying to chase balls, understanding formations, reading offenses, things like that.

On safety or corner:
As of now, I'm playing safety. I'm not playing corner right now.

On redshirting last season:
Last season I played mainly scout team. I tried to learn formations. I got banged up during fall camp. I've been listening to older guys and what they have to say.

On his weight:
I put on 13 pounds since I came here last summer. I'm 185.

On getting turnovers:
Today I got a fumble recovery and I had a couple PBU's but no picks yet.

On the scrimmage last Saturday:
I had a couple opportunities (at picks) but I missed it. I'm trying to get that back.

On his goals:
I'm working on reading formations, learning how to get plays right. I wanna just use my athletic ability on the field and make turnovers for my team.
