Rivers Running to Miami?

The state of Florida will be loaded with talented linebackers for the class of 2004. Lake Mary (Fla.) middle linebacker Keith Rivers might be one of the best that the Sunshine State has to offer.

"He's the type of linebacker that runs down hill," Lake Mary head coach Stanton said. "Keith will run your butt over. He's very good at finding the football and making the play."

College coaches from across the country have already taken notice on the talented 6-foot-3 and 230 pound standout with 4.5 40-yard dash speed.

Rivers, who was selected second team all-state in class 5A competition, already has an impressive early offers including, Southern Cal, Notre Dame, Miami, Florida State, Georgia, Central Florida and South Carolina.

Rivers, who is originally from California, is open in the recruiting process. Some of the teams he is considering are Southern Cal, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, and Miami.

"I'm looking for someplace that has a good academic program, a good location and nice weather," Rivers said. "I'm pretty much open to all schools now."

This past season as a junior, Rivers recorded 160 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss and three sacks.

This summer he plans on attending the Miami football team camp.
