Mompremier, a 6-foot, 210-pound first-team all-state selection has high praise from Edison head coach Corey Bell.
"He's probably one of the top guys we've had at this school," Bell said. Bell went on to say Monpremier's main strength is aggressive nature on the field, which separated him from the ordinary. The junior defensive captain and three-year starter racked up an impressive 118 tackles, 12 sacks and one interception last season.
Mompremier, who carries a solid 3.5 grade point average in the classroom, is hearing from schools all over the country via mail. Some of the schools he's considering are Miami, Oklahoma, Florida State and Pittsburgh.
"I like defensive schools," Mompremier said.
"Florida State was my favorite team growing up but I'm not favoring anyone now. Florida State has an aggressive style of defense and the only thing they were lacking this year was leadership. Miami is known for their toughness. I like the way they play defense."
