SunStateFootball's Five Sleepers

Last year Homestead's Darrin Kitchens, Miami Beach's Delmar Taylor, and Glades Central's Greg Dent were little known at this point in the recruiting season. They ended up at Florida, Miami, and Florida State on signing day. SunStateFootball looks for five sleepers who could end up in Big 3 classes.

1. Loucheiz Purifoy

School: Pensacola (Pine Forest)

Ht/Wt: 6'0, 165

Position: Athlete

Offers: Southern Miss, Troy, UAB

Purifoy did most of his damage at Running Back as a junior, but it is as a Defensive Back that he will likely be recruited. At 6'0, with sub 4.5 speed, he is the long Corner that is coveted by every school. He will have to prove that he can play there, we received several reports that he did just that at UFs camp earlier this week.

2. Russell Haughton-James

School: Plantation (American Heritage)

Ht/Wt: 6'5, 280

Position: Offensive Line

Offers: none reported

Haughton-James has moved from Cypress Bay to North Broward Prep to Western and now finds himself at American Heritage as a senior. His size is obviously elite and he has the necessary athleticism. There has been significant interest in Haughton-James for two years, he just needs to put it all together as a senior. He competed at the Miami Camp on Sunday.

3. Javess Blue

School: Lake Wales

Ht/Wt: 5'11, 180

Position: Wide Receiver

Offers: Kansas

He had a big junior year with 49 catches for 1,1010 yards and 11 touchdowns. Blue has legit speed and good size on his 5'11 frame. He has the type of athleticism that could play either side of the football. If Justin Shafer(baseball commit and MLB draft prospect) plays his senior year at QB, Blue could have a monster season.

4. Marquis Lucas

School: Miami (Central)

Ht/Wt: 6'4, 290

Position: Offensive Line

Offers: FIU, Minnesota, Illinois

Miami Central really has 3-4 prospects who could make such a move with a strong senior year. Devonta Freeman, Miles Pace, Thomas Finnie, and Charles Gaines all have some special qualities. Lucas had a very strong Spring and Offensive Linemen are always in demand.

5. Andre Zanders

School: Live Oak (Suwanee)

Ht/Wt: 6'3, 190

Position: Wide Receiver

Offers: none reported

Zanders is a big target that played his first year of football as a junior(from the basketball court). Live Oak has a young Quarterback that could be special down the road, it would not surprise to see Zanders have a big senior year. He is expected to be featured as a senior and flashed some big play ability last season.
