The Hurricanes practiced at 10 am this morning and CanesTime.com was there. Read on for several practice notes from today's session.

CanesTime's Jason Null was at practice today and here is some of what happened:

* Benjamin Jones and Jamal Reid weren't at practice again. They're still finishing up some school work but Shannon said they're fine and it's nothing to worry about.

* LB Kevin Nelson was all over the place during inside run session. LB Travis Williams also looked good during that period.

* Kelvin Cain was playing MLB today.

* Adewale Ojomo had some big hits today, Shayon Green one, Ramon Buchanan one, etc.

* During 7on7 drills, JoJo Nicolas and Vaughn Telemaque were the first 2 safeties. K-Rob was at MLB.

* Kacy Rodgers was playing safety again and it appears he's been moved there.

* Ryan Hill was back home at a funeral.

* Mark Whipple wasn't there today. He was at the HOF thing since he was Chris Berman's roommate.

* TE Asante Cleveland had some excellent catches, including a touchdown and a catch in triple coverage.

* RB Lamar Miller and WR Travis Benjamin were fielding punts.

* TE Billy Sanders had a few drops, as did Andrew Tallman.

* S JoJo Nicolas had a great pick, ripping the ball with one hand away from Leonard Hankerson.

* CB Brandon Harris looked nice on some corner blitzes today.

* DT Marcus Forston had a few sacks and had a great practice all around.

* LB Tyrone Cornileus was all over the place making plays.

* Cory Nelms had a nice pick during 7on7 session.

* Spencer Whipple to Tommy Streeter and Jacory to Kendal Thompkins were two impressive touchdowns today.

* On one play, DE Allen Bailey just collapsed the whole left side.

* During third down work, Storm Johnson had a 45 yard touchdown run.

* OLB Jordan Futch wasn't doing any of the contact drills.

* OT Seantrel Henderson was taken out early. He's playing right tackle.

* The QB's were shaky in the beginning but got much better as the practice wore on.

* Ray Ray had an interception return for about 20 yards off AJ Highsmith.

* Kendal Thompkins made a great catch on an underthrown ball.

* On an all out blitz, Jacory dumped it to Aldarius Johnson, who went for a 65 yard touchdown.

* Miller caught a screen and went to the outside and outran everyone. When cutting, he looks effortless and doesn't slow down a bit.

* Interviews coming up soon -- Shannon, B. Harris, Storm Johnson, Asante Cleveland, and Kendal Thompkins.
