Interview: Matt Bosher

Matt Bosher is expected to be one of the top kickers in all of college football this season. Read on to see everything he's talking about.

On goals for next season:
I think we have to just focus on each game and just win each game and if we do that it will pay off in the end of the season, but I think right now as a team we need to just focus on one game at a time.

On current height and weight:
I'm 6'1" and 205.

On how the team has changed from last year:
I think we've matured. Every year we've matured, the past three or four. I think we've gotten a little bit stronger mentally, learned to focus a little bit more, and I think this year we are going to be able to finish off games a little bit better.

On tough opening schedule:
I think it's going to be a lot of fun for us. A lot of people around the country are doubting us but I think it gives us an opportunity to show what we can do as a team.

On what freshman have stood out:
All of the freshmen right now, they all look great.

On what he has done this summer:
Do the same workouts as the rest of the team, four times a week. I go out and I kick on my own a couple of days a week with my holder and snapper. It's just a lot more individual work in the summer kicking wise, just working on your own techniques, your own fundamentals, so when it comes time for camp you can put it all together. Just small stuff.

On whether he feels as if his range has gotten farther:
You know that comes with gaining leg strength but in the summer time, more or less focused on 45 and in. That is where your career is made. So just focusing on being accurate inside the 45, and the range come from just working out and practice.

On whether he will be doing kickoff, punt, and field-goals this season:
For the season, I don't know. That is a question for Coach Shannon. On my own, yeah. We all practice all three, so it's something we are all prepared for.

On whether he has looked at the film from last year where he put big hits on guys:
I mean it's cool to see but I try not to dwell on what happened last year. You got to move on this year and focus on the games at hand, and see where it takes you.

On expectation for team:
I think that this team is much more mature and I think that we are ready to go out there and show what we are made of. I think that the expectations that are being put on us are legit, and I think that we can go out there and take care of business. We just have to make sure that we go out focused every game, every play, and if we do that we will come out on top.
