8/13 Practice Notes (morning)

After taking yesterday off, the Hurricanes practiced this morning and CanesTime was there for the action. Read on for some notes on this morning's session.

Today was the first double session of the summer and from the start it looked like they were preaching ball security.

- Jamal Reid was practicing today

- Allen Hurns was sitting out of wide receiver drills

- The defense was practicing taking on a block and making the angle tackle. Very intense drill.

- Brandon McGee was not practicing today

- In 11 on 11's it looked like TE was the main target

- Richard Gordon made a nice one handed grab on a drag route

- Asante Cleveland scored a td while defenders tried to strip the ball from him

- Jamal Reid made a nice play on a ball thrown by Highsmith which looked like an interception but Tommy Streeter wrestled the ball away from him and came up with the grab . Great play and hustle all around.

- Chase Ford dropped a pass from Jacory Harris

- Jermaine Johnson was absolutely trampled by Olivier Vernon which would have resulted in an easy sack.

More info and player interviews coming later after the next session...stay tuned
