Bamberg (SC) defensive tackle David Deleon has ended the suspense and has made his college choice.

With offers from the SEC, Big Ten, Big East, Pac-10 and the Big East, the three-star defensive stalwart from South Carolina will be heading to Oxford, Ohio to play for the Miami Redhawks. DeLeon, who plays for the ultra-talented Bamberg-Erhardt HS ended all speculation today by contacting the Miami coaching staff.

DeLeon has a knack for anticipating the play and that has created great benefits for his team. Last season, David had 89 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, and 7 sacks. He also uses his talents as a wrestler to create mismatches. Last wrestling season DeLeon was 27-10, helping his team to a state title.

David had the opportunity to visit Miami in June and met with Defensive Coordinator Pete Rekstis and told RedhawkInsider that Miami will "run a very aggressive, attacking pass rush and that's what I want. I want to get after the quarterback." There is no doubt that Miami opponents will have one formidable opponent to contend with in David DeLeon.

Stay tuned to RedhawkInsider as it will bring more on David in the very near future.
