Pankey Talks About Local Offer

The Miami RedHawks continued their impressive recruiting streak when three star DT David DeLeon from Bamberg, SC committed last week. Now, the Miami staff will return its focus a little closer to home with Hamilton H.S. (OH) standout OG Adam Pankey

Adam Pankey, a 6'5 300 lb. three star recruit has offers from Illinois, Louisville, Indiana, Pitt, West Virginia and many MAC schools. The senior, who's been working on adding strength and improving his footwork this summer, made time to talk to RedHawk Insider about why Miami may be his destination in 2012. "I really like the coaches at Miami. Coach Treadwell is very straightforward. He knows how to win and what it takes. I really like him," said Pankey, who visited Miami this spring. "Plus," he added, "the campus and the academics are great."

When asked about the timeline for his college decision, the local standout said that he "hadn't sat down to weigh it all out yet." When that time does come after his senior season, what are things that he wants in a football program? "I'm looking for the opportunity to play early at a school with good academics. Those are my top two things," said Pankey, who wants to major in Business or Communications. For RedHawk fans riding the high of an already talented recruiting class, Pankey's wish list is good news- Miami boasts a highly ranked Business school and lacks depth on the offensive line. Those positive selling points teamed with an opportunity to play in front of friends and family could be what it takes to see Adam Pankey in a RedHawk uniform in Fall 2012.
