RedHawk Insider caught up with Brian Leffler to discuss the upcoming 2008 football season and his recruiting experience.
"My dad and I took a visit to Miami this summer," said Leffler. "I met a lot of people. I had an opportunity to meet with Coaches Hood and Montgomery. I got a tour of the facilities and met with faculty in the business school"
Brian continued, "I also had lunch with Joey Hudson and Clayton Mullins. It was a chance to meet and get to know two great linebackers."
Brian is a member of a powerful team at the Hun School in Princeton, NJ, who also sees time at fullback and tight end. "We were 9-0 last year. We have our opener up at Wyoming Seminary in Scranton, PA," said Leffler. "As always, our big game will be against Blair Academy. It should be a good year, we have a lot of talent," Brian continued.
Leffler is a strong and quick player that is explosive against run blocking and in making tackles. He boasts a 4.61 forty yard dash, a 325 lb bench and a 31" vertical leap.
He's been receiving offers from a variety of schools, both BCS and non-BCS programs, including: West Virginia, Tulane, Temple, Army and a host of Ivy League schools. Judging his options, Leffler said, "I'm happy with the offers that I have so far. I'll be looking at academics, the chance to play early and winning traditions when evaluating each school."
Brian mentioned that he currently plans to take his official visits before making a commitment to any school.
