Several RedHawks Suspended for First Quarter

The Miami RedHawks will be shorthanded in the early going of their rivalry game vs. Ohio University on Friday. RedHawk Insider has learned that several members of the Miami varsity football squad have been suspended for at least the first quarter for breaking curfew earlier this week.

The Miami RedHawks will be shorthanded in the early going of their rivalry game vs. Ohio University on Friday. RedHawk Insider has learned that several members of the Miami varsity football squad have been suspended for at least the first quarter for breaking curfew earlier this week.

Although a complete list of names has yet to be established some key contributors who will be sidelined early include: DE Joe Coniglio, DL Travis Craven, OL Dave DiFranco, WR Eugene Harris, WR Armand Robinson, and DB Brandon Stephens.

There are thought to be upwards of ten more players not yet known who are also being sat out for some of the game on account of the same incident. The RedHawks are already without the services of RB Thomas Merriweather and LB Caleb Bostic, both suspended for off the field issues.

The OU game marks the end of a tumultuous season for the RedHawks which saw OL Zach Marshall arrested for burglary before the season even started, and later convicted. The RedHawks struggles have been just as tough on the field, scuffling to a 2-9 record, which includes several blowout losses to in conference rivals.
