Hopkins Offered By Miami

Chrishawn Hopkins of Indianapolis Manuel High School has remained a relative unknown in the area due to moving back and forth from Las Vegas to Indiana. As a result, Hopkins only got to play in 8 games last season for Manuel. However, once he attended the Elite Camps at Indiana and Miami, he no longer was flying under the radar.

Chrishawn Hopkins of Indianapolis Manuel High School has remained a relative unknown in the area due to moving back and forth from Las Vegas to Indiana. As a result, Hopkins only got to play in 8 games last season for Manuel.

However, once he attended the Elite Camps at Indiana and Miami, he no longer was flying under the radar.

The 6'1", 165 lb Hopkins stated the schools recruiting him are Virginia, Miami-OH (offer), Wright State (offer), Butler (offer), Arizona State, and Indiana.

Hopkins has taken visits to Butler and Wright State.

Hopkins mentioned he will not decision on a school until after the end of the July AAU circuit.

He plays AAU ball with the Bloomington Blaze and has been averaging a whopping 37ppg.

During the 8 games he played for Manuel last season, he averaged 17.6 points while only taking 8 shots per game.

Hopkins described his game as follows:

"I'm a point guard, well, pretty much a combo guard. I can get to the rim, I can shoot."

He said his strengths are passing and driving to the bucket. As for weaknesses, it is defense and overall strength.

He also explained that another key strength of his is passing:

Although Hopkins is a qualifying risk, he is taking summer school to help raise his grades. He said, "They are getting higher. Last report card I had a 3.3. I am also waiting on my ACT score."
