2010 power forward Chip Rank (6'7", 215) of Cedarburg, Wisconsin has seen his AAU season come to an end after playing July tournaments in Cincinnati, Louisville, Milwaukee, and Las Vegas. These tournaments were played in front of coaches from across the country. As a result of his play in July, Rank has emerged as one of the top recruiting targets for the RedHawks.

In Cincinnati, Rank led the Wisconsin Swing to a pool Championship before falling to Shining Star Sports-McFarland which includes Miami commit Josh Sewell. In Vegas, Rank again had some success early. Rank said, "Vegas was good. We won our pool pretty easily. Then we lost our first tournament game."

Now that AAU is over, it is now time for him to focus on what college to attend next year.

Missouri State offered Rank last week during the Vegas tourney. Other than that, Rank indicated "nothing else has really changed" in his recruitment since the last time RedHawk Insider spoke with Rank.

Previously, Rank gave the following lists of other schools that are recruiting him: UW-Milwaukee, UW-Green Bay, Northern Iowa, North Dakota State, William and Mary, Miami-OH, Loyola (Chi), Northwestern, and Creighton. All except Northwestern and Creighton have offered him scholarships. Rank has visited all of the schools he previously said had offered him.

Rank does not have any "real leaders" at this point.

Rank's visit to Miami occurred on July 5. Rank indicated he plans to visit Miami again. Other than Miami, he has no other visits scheduled at this time.

Rank previously told RedHawk Insider about his visit to Miami. He said, "Miami was good. I could not really talk to the coaches because it was against the (NCAA) rules (for that recruiting period). So I just went with my family and just drove around. It was a pretty campus." Rank added, "Great school. Good academics. They have some good coaches. I like their assistant coaches. I talked to their head coach (Charlie Coles) and thought he was a really cool guy."

Rank also is a two-sport star that plays quarterback for Cedarburg High School. Cross training in both sports has left him strong. He currently bench presses 265 pounds and squats 270.

As for his game, Rank described himself as follows:

"I am hustler guy. I rebound a lot. I try to get people open. Joe Krabbenhoft from Wisconsin, I am like him."
