Sheldon said of this coming season, "We will be good. Everyone thinks we will have a down year. But we have a new coach who is bringing a lot of exciting stuff to our team."
Although a power forward who scores in the low post, Sheldon likes to play the high post and run the court. Sheldon discussed his versatility, "I can go back to the basket and I can go out and square up. I can play wing and take it off the dribble and if (the defender) does not honor my jump shot I will knock it down."
Although his junior year has not started yet, Sheldon already has three scholarship offers from NCAA Division I schools. Sheldon said the schools that have offered him are Miami-OH, Lehigh, and Western Michigan. Miami head coach Charlie Coles offered Sheldon after his freshman season. It may have been Miami's first offer to any player in the 2012 class.
Sheldon also mentioned interest from Michigan, Davidson, Central Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, USC, Utah, Wisconsin, Indiana, Penn State, Providence, William and Mary, Oakland, Grand Valley State (DII), Toledo, Kent State, Ball State, Northeastern, Denver, Dayton, and LSU.
Sheldon was in attendance at Miami's Elite Camp in June. He said of the visit, "I love the town. As soon as we drove in we could tell it is a nice college town. It just had the feel to it with all the brick buildings, trees, and everything. I just love it."
Like many Miami recruiting targets, Sheldon gets it done in the classroom and boats a 3.8 GPA.
Expect Sheldon to continue to be one of Miami's prime recruiting targets in the class of 2012.
