Offense Report Card

SpartanDigest.com offensive report card for the Northern Colorado game.

Quarterback

Kirk Cousins and Andrew Maxwell both played solid going 19-of-25 for 331 yards and two touchdowns.  The key was they did not throw an interception.  Cousins looked more comfortable in the pocket and continue to grow as a quarterback.  Grade: A

Running Back

As a team, the Spartans rushed for 201 yards, but the three-headed rushing attack of Le'Veon Bell, Edwin Baker, and Larry Caper, posted solid numbers with 189 yards and an average of over 6-yards per carry.  Grade: A

Offensive Line

With lots of players getting a chance to play, the Spartans were able to get some players some playing experience.  The Spartans did give up two sacks, but that came against the Spartans second unit.  Grade: A

Wide Receivers

All four of the Spartans main receivers got touches on the day, but none of them were able to score.  This should have been expected, as the Spartans are sure to look to run the ball in if possible.  Grade: A

Tight End

Brian Linthicum is taking full advantage of the absences of two Spartan tight ends and posted 63 yards on three catches with one touchdown.  Grade: A
