Zettel Talks Spartans

Michigan native impressed by what the Spartans have shown this season. Is it enough to turn his head to place the Spartans at the top of his list? We get the latest.

For Anthony Zettel the recruiting process continues to grind away. With several schools still showing interest, the West Branch (MI) Ogemaw Heights product has narrowed the list down some. Nevertheless, even during our conversation, Zettel found he needed to add a school or two.

However, where do the Michigan State Spartans stand with the 6-foot-4, 255-pound offensive guard prospect?

"Michigan State impressed me by the way they played against Notre Dame. I was at the game and came away very impressed in how they finished and how they fought back as a team to win."

One thing Zettel is looking hard at in each program of interest is how good he feels the team will be during his time on campus.

"I'm looking very hard at where I feel the team will be by the time I get there. I'm looking at team chemistry and how I fit into the program."

Looking back Anthony was very surprised by the events involving head coach Mark Dantonio.

"We were still there when everything happened. He was looking somewhat pale and I was surprised to hear what happened. I'm just glad that he's alright."

As for the programs still getting his attention at this time.

"Right now Michigan, Penn State, Iowa, Michigan State, USC, UCLA, as well as Cincinnati are still programs of interest. It may be a couple of weeks or I may wait until the end of my season before I make any decision."

Anthony Zettel has visited the Spartans along with Michigan for games this season. He made visits to Penn State and Cincinnati during the summer. SpartanDigest.com will continue to follow the continue recruitment of Anthony until he makes his college decision.
