"I like the whole thing about both Michigan State and Wisconsin, Latta told SpartanDigest.com. The style of football and the coaches at both schools I like a lot. I know I will not have to change too much about my game at either program."
A visitor for the Spartans and Badgers match-up just two weeks ago, Latta was impressed by what he saw out of each team. As for the Spartans victory over Michigan, Latta was a bit disappointed by the outcome.
"The win over Michigan was huge. It was not what I expected and I was disappointed in Michigan, but it was impressive."
Leading the way for the Spartans is Spartans tight end coach Mark Staten, how well has Latta and Staten bonded?
"I have talked a lot with Coach Staten and feel we are building a strong relationship. Both programs have offered me as an offensive lineman, but Wisconsin has not ruled out me being on the defensive side of the ball."
What will be important in getting Latta as a verbal pledge?
"Where I can go and get the most PT (playing time) will play a factor."
While he is happy with the two offers to date, Kelby is hoping others take interest as well.
While it is early for Kelby in the recruiting process, he knows someone will be looking for him to give his pledge early.
"Right now I'm thinking about doing it after the end of next football season, but you never know and I could do it early."
SpartanDigest.com will continue to follow Kelby in the coming months as he continues through the recruiting process.
