Spartans Rebound Against Washington

After going down on Tuesday night against Connecticut, Tom Izzo's team found a way to fight back after being down 10 points at the half.

After coming off a loss to Connecticut, you would think there would be more talk about the play of the Michigan State men's basketball team. Instead, some in the media have decided it better to talk about post on a Spartans social media page than the play on the court.

Lucky for the Spartans, Wednesday brought another game to redeem the hard fought loss from Tuesday night.

Led by Kalin Lucas's 28-point effort, Michigan State got back to winning basketball in their final game of the Maui Invitational.

While the Spartans found a way to turn away a pesky Washington team, it was play by another guard that has some scratching their head. Washington's Isaiah Thomas and Justin Holiday scored in double figures with Thomas also tossing out six assists on the night.

Matt Bryan-Amaning was top scorer for the Huskies with 15 points and 6 rebounds.

However, Lucas was more than Washington could handle with his 29 points. Also scoring in double figures was Durrell Summers (12 pts), Draymond Green (12 pts), and Garrick Sherman (10 pts).

One area of improvement for the Spartans was hitting the boards as MSU out rebounded the Huskies 31-27 on the night.

Michigan State returns to the mainland and will take on Tennessee Tech on Sunday at 1:00 pm (EST) at home.
