Three Spartans earn tournament honors

The Spartans ended their season on a nice run to the Elite 8, and the three key players that led them there, got the recognition they deserved.

Paul Davis, the 6-foot-10 freshman center, was selected to the All-South Regional first team for his efforts in helping the Spartans get to the Regional final.

Davis averaged 11.5 points per game and 5.25 rebounds in MSU's four games. Davis made two clutch shots against Maryland in the Sweet Sixteen game to lift the Spartans to the Elite Eight.

Another freshman, 6-foot-10 forward Erazem Lorbek, was selected to the All-South Regional second team for his great play.

Lorbek was the Spartans leading scorer in the tournament averaging 12 points per game, while snatching 5.5 rebounds per game.

Sophomore guard Chris Hill rounds out the Spartan trio of all-stars, with a third team All-South Regional honors.

Hill averaged 11.2 points per game for the Spartans, which include a key 15-point performance against Colorado in the first round.

Although Tom Izzo has finished coaching and guiding his team, he's still going to be a significant part in the Final Four.

Izzo will be the special analyst for the Final Four games on Saturday on CBS. Izzo will join Greg Gumble and Clark Kellogg on the set for pregame and halftime analysis.

Izzo should be an excellent guest, given he's played Syracuse and Texas this season and has a great relationship with Marquette's Tom Crean, a former MSU assistant.
