Looking Back At The Spartan 66 - #39-35

We continue our look back at the Spartan 66 ranked prior to the season. How did players #39-35 stack up?

During the spring and summer, SpartanDigest.com gave you the Top 66 players in the Michigan State program. Now we continue to look back and see how our rankings panned out during the Spartans great season.

#39 – Mylan Hicks – The hope was to save Hicks and leave four more years in the program ahead of him. However, with White leaving the program, and because of his overall ability, the freshman played in all twelve games while getting a start. Big things are expected out of Hicks in the coming years.

#38 – Jared McGaha – McGaha got several reps during the season and continues to show progress. Expect him to be pushed after this season to become a regular.

#37 – Andrew Maxwell – Maxwell made the Top 40 because he was the guy the staff had placed behind Kirk Cousins. Got some reps and called upon a few times when needed, but was not pushed to be a starter and that was great for the Spartans. Continued development was seen throughout the season and much will be expected of him in the coming years.

#36 – Jon Misch – With the depth at linebacker Misch did another super job of providing solid play throughout the season. Despite the depth, the Spartans have at the linebacker spot, Misch will be missed for his leadership and consistent play.

#35 – Patrick White – Coaches expected White to be competing for major playing time this season. However, the Ohio native did not seem happy and the competition that came to camp pushed him even harder. Left prior to the season and transferred to University of Cincinnati.
