Looking Back At The Spartan 66 - #14-10

We continue our look back at the Spartan 66 ranked prior to the season. How did players #14-10 stack up?

During the spring and summer, SpartanDigest.com gave you the Top 66 players in the Michigan State program. Now we continue to look back and see how our rankings panned out during the Spartans great season.

#14 – Edwin Baker – While many felt Baker and Caper would share carries, Baker became the focal point of the offense when his running mate was injured. That is all it took and Baker posted some great numbers with 1,187 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns on the season.

#13 – Johnny Adams – After sitting out last season many wondered what effect the Ohio native would have on the Spartans defensive back play. We soon found out as Adams finished the season with 43 total tackles and 3 interceptions on the season. Two more seasons of play will only see Adams get better.

#12 – Larry Caper – The sophomore saw an early season injury sideline him and Baker take full advantage. Only got 37 carries for 143 yards and 2 touchdowns, however, Caper proved valuable in the passing game pulling down 11 balls for 128 yards and a touchdown.

#11 – Eric Gordon - Looking back Gordon should have been in the Top Five of the Spartan 66. Posted 88 total tackles with 2 sacks and 6.5 tackles for loss. We will all learn just how much Gordon did for the Spartans defense next season.

#10 - John Stipek – Anchored the Spartans offensive line from the center position and did a great job all season.
