Hopes Are High For Spartans

We look at five prospects still on the Spartans radar, as the final weeks of the building the Class of 2011 is underway.

With the dead period now over, Michigan State is back hitting the road after a successful season. The final weeks of building the Class of 2011 are underway, and we look at five prospects still on the Spartans radar.

How will the Spartans do? Here is how we see things going down.

Savon Huggins – The New Jersey running back is a wanted man and will not make his choice until the end of the month. While he is set to visit Michigan State in two weekends, his final visit is set for Rutgers who is doing everything right in keeping him home. While the Spartans are in the race, many feel this is down to Rutgers and Notre Dame. RESULT: Look for the recent hires at Rutgers to pull Huggins in that direction.

Aundrey Walker – The big Ohio offensive lineman is opening some eyes with his early performance at the Army All-American practices. While Aundrey does a great job of telling recruiting media what they want to hear, he will be hard pressed to plug the pipeline from Glenville High School to Ohio State. RESULT: Will follow the many before him and sign with Ohio State.

Doran Grant – Much like Walker, the son of a Spartan has done a great job of keeping MSU in the talk from start to finish. However, everyone Spartan Digest has spoken with feels Grant will pledge Ohio State during Wednesday's All-American game. RESULT: Pledges and signs with Ohio State.

Andre Sturdivant – List an official visit to Ohio State for this weekend. However, many feel the Buckeyes will not take him, as he does not hold an offer from them. That leaves Penn State and Michigan State as teams with scheduled visits. The question being asked by some is just how interested are the Spartans now. RESULT: If the Spartans still want the Glenville product, he is there for the taking.

Brandon Clemons – Michigan State gets the last visit and it may be just what is needed for Clemons to look towards the Spartans. This will get interesting as Connecticut is now looking for a head coach as Maryland hired their head coach. Many feel the draw of the Big Ten will be a major factor in Clemons decision, and with the coaching changes at Maryland and Connecticut, the Spartans may move to the head of the pack. RESULT: Too early to say but right now we have a feeling Michigan State wins this one.
