Spartan Digest Take: Andre Sims Jr.

With National Signing Day fast approaching, it is time we start looking at each of the Spartans verbal pledges and give our assessment about the good, bad, and future of each. Next, we look at athlete Andre Sims Jr.

What To Like

Speed and big-play ability is what makes Andre Sims Jr. a player who can make a difference in the Big Ten. The question long term is where the Georgia native will play as he could lineup as a corner or find him on offense. Either way, Michigan State is getting an underappreciated player who has excelled during his high school career.

What May Concern You

Everyone will be concerned with Sims height at 5-foot-9 and what he can do. While this is a good thing to be concerned with, it does not take away from the recent explosion of players his size that has become major playmakers for several college programs across the country.

Bottom Line

Andre Sims Jr. is a triple threat as he can help a team on offense, defense, and special teams. Because of this Sims is a safe recruit for the Spartans staff and one that should pay dividends in the coming years. Will be excited to see what he can do as a return man at the college level.
