Odenigbo Talks Spartans Offer

After hearing from the Spartans for a few weeks, Ohio defensive end Ifeadi Odenigbo got the news he was looking for. An offer from the Big Ten Champions.

It's no surprise Michigan State offered Centerville (Ohio) High School defensive end Ifeadi Odenigbo a scholarship. In fact, many were just waiting for it to happen. On Monday, the Spartans made sure the 6-foot-4, 201-pound Odenigbo knew they wanted him in Green & White.

"I spoke with Coach Barnett and Coach Dantonio today. My coach pulled me out of class today and told me they had offered. So I called them on the phone and spoke with them."

Was Odenigbo surprised?

"Coach Barnett and Coach Dantonio told me a few weeks ago they wanted to get signing day done and then they would be back to offer me and they kept their word today."

While Ifeadi does not know a lot about Michigan State, he is doing his research.

"I do not really know a lot to be honest. I have been watching ESPN, and I know they tied Ohio State for the Big Ten. I am not really familiar with them and look forward to visiting them and learning more."

While he had hoped to visit for the Spartans Junior Day, a track meet will prevent him from getting an early look. Therefore, Odenigbo has used a little different tool in learning more about Michigan State.

"I go and look at the Princeton Review at each school that offers me and see what they say about these schools."

With ten verbal offers already issued, Spartan Digest will continue to follow the latest on one of Ohio's top overall prospects in the Class of 2012.
