Spartans Looking At Day

Monday found Class of 2012 defensive tackle Sheldon Day looking to impress during the Best of the Midwest Combine. Spartan Digest spoke with Day about any interest he is seeing from Michigan State.

Spartan Digest made the rounds this past weekend checking out the talent taking the field at two different combines. On Monday, we made the trip to Indianapolis, Indiana and watched Warren Central High School defensive tackle Sheldon Day.

Are the Michigan State Spartans showing interest in the 6-foot-2, 278-pound Day?

"Michigan State said they would have an offer for me soon. They want me to come up and I'm looking to do that during their Junior Day this coming weekend."

As for what Day knows about the Spartans to this point, it is not much.

"I know their defensive line is real big and they look like they know what they are doing in the weight room. If I went up there I know I would be part of a top defense."

"I also know they had an All-American linebacker and always have good running backs, receivers, and quarterbacks."

Being at Warren Central has allowed Day to watch those before him gone through the recruiting process. How has the early interest been for him since teams started to show interest?

"It has been a real good experience and I'm just looking to enjoy it right now."

Spartan Digest will check back with Sheldon to see if he made it up to East Lansing this weekend.
