Spartans End Regular Season With Loss

Spartans end regular season with 70-63 loss to rival Michigan.

For the second time this season, Michigan State found cross-state rival Michigan more than they could handle. After falling in late January to the Wolverines, Tom Izzo's team looked to end the regular season with a positive and a win over Michigan.

Michigan State (17-13, 9-9) found the Wolverines just as pesky as the first time around as Tim Hardaway Jr. score 20 points in the second half, keeping pace with the Spartans Kalin Lucas who would score 23 of his 25 points during the same span.

The Spartans outplayed the Wolverines in all areas except shooting percentage and on the scoreboard and will now look to have a strong run in the Big Ten Tournament.

Durrell Summers would pour in 13 points to go with 13 rebounds and Keith Appling would score 10 points on the day during the 70-63 loss.
