"We got up to Michigan State about 11:00 today," Higgins said by phone as his way back home. "The trip to Michigan State was awesome today. I got a chance to speak with everybody today. Coach Narduzzi, Coach Roushar, Coach Staten, Coach Salem and Coach Dantonio. We talked with everybody and toured the campus. We did so much stuff today."
Like most offensive linemen, the thing Higgins remembered most about his trip was lunch.
"This was my second time up to Michigan State. This time I did get to see more of the campus and we went to this real neat place for lunch. I do not remember what it was called; however, they have this place where you can go eat on campus that has like nine different restaurants in it."
While talking with the coaches may have been enough. Zach also got a chance to pick the brains of a couple of current Spartans.
"We got a chance to talk with Jerel Worthy and a little bit with Arthur Ray who is coming back after beating bone cancer. We also talked with all of the running backs and the strength coach Ken Mannie who is a pretty awesome dude."
Zach has make it no secret how much he likes Michigan State. Nevertheless, there is another school he grew up dreaming of playing for in Ohio State. After a visit on the 16th, there is a chance he will return one more time to see if the Buckeyes show the interest he is looking for.
"Right now I plan on going to Ohio State this weekend. I went over there a few days ago, but am thinking about going one more time. However, I really, really like Michigan State. If I go to Ohio State this weekend, I am going to try and make a decision. I just want to see what goes on one more time."
From talking with Zach the past couple of weeks, do not be surprised if he makes a call to the Spartans and commits late this weekend or early in the week if he does not hear the news he is looking for from Ohio State.
Spartan Digest will check in with Zach on Sunday to get the latest news.
