O'Brien Talks Spartans Visit

Spartan Digest checks in with Danny O'Brien who visited Michigan State on Saturday for the Spartans spring game.

With several top targets visiting for the Spring Game, Michigan State found themselves with an abundance of talent taking in their final day of spring practice. One of those talented players was Flint (MI) Powers Catholic defensive tackle Danny O'Brien.

How was O'Brien's latest visit with the Spartans?

"It was great as we had great weather all day and they had a great crowd at the game."

One of Danny's best friends is Novi (MI) Detroit Catholic Central defensive tackle Matt Godin. How much time did the duo spend together on Saturday during the spring game?

"It was real good as me and Matt Godin went down together and Coach Dantonio, Coach Narduzzi and Coach Gill talked to us a lot and had both of us out on the middle of the field before the game as the team was going through warm-ups so we could see some of their drills."

What impression did Danny walk away with after getting an up close look at the Spartans defense?

"They are a real hard working and intense team with a lot of leaders and young guys on defense so they will continue to be on the rise."

Did the Spartan coaches talk about where they see him fitting in on their defense?

"They see me as an inside guy like Jerel Worthy is for them now."

For O'Brien the recruiting trail is still a long one as he has several planned visits ahead and is not looking to make his college decision until after his senior season.
