"I'm very excited about the Michigan State offer. Coach Roushar said they were going to offer me, but that they wanted me to first come up to campus and visit. I guess they want me so bad because they offered me before my visit."
That visit will come this weekend and while Coleman does not know too much about the Spartans, he knows they run the football.
"I'm going up for a visit on Saturday. I believe Michigan State is only recruiting me as a running back. I know they said they want me as a tailback and I feel their system would fit me very well as I want to go to a school that will put the football in my hands and let me do my job."
Stating his on field strengths are his speed (4.48 forty) and the ability to bounce to the outside, Coleman has been looking hard at a couple of the 11 schools that had offered prior to the Spartans. He also has enjoyed the recruiting process as he tries to keep the stress level at the minimum.
With thoughts of studying sports medicine, Coleman is open about when he'll make his decision and the distance away from home he's willing to travel.
"Right now I feel I'll be making my decision after the season. As for going away from home, it really doesn't matter to me as long as I'm happy at the school I'm attending."
Spartan Digest will catch up with Tevin Coleman when he returns from his trip to the campus of Michigan State this weekend.
