Damon Knox has been working hard since making his college decision to be a Michigan State Spartan back in December. So how does Knox see things at Michigan State?
"I like how things are looking there. I think I can play and I can see myself playing this season. But I won't really know until I get to working out there. As of right now I think I can play."
With his high school graduation on Thursday night, Knox knows the countdown to report is at hand.
I report to Michigan State on July 5th. I'm excited and pumped up about it. Graduation is now out of the way and now it's time to hit the weight room every day. I want to be consistent with that and I'll be on campus very soon."
While everything looks in order now, Knox was pushed hard to make sure he left nothing in the classroom the past few months.
"It's been a challenge. I had to take care of some stuff with school and had to get my grades right. But I feel it has made me a better person and showed me how much more I need to work. So in college I think I'll be a little more prepared."
How did the hard work pay off?
"I pulled out all A and B grades and did pretty well."
As for his future as a Spartan it is still up in the air as to what position the Spartan coaches will place Knox.
"They really have not said much yet. They said it depends upon how my body develops as they said I could play defensive end or defensive tackle."
As for how Damon is growing it looks as if he's added a few pounds in the past few months.
"I'm now 6-foot-5 and 275-pounds."
While some guys look to make quick friends with their other incoming teammates. Damon has not had that much contact with his future teammates.
