Ohio Class of 2013 Linebacker Back On Track

A couple of weeks ago Spartan Digest watched Dayton (Ohio) linebacker Darrien Howard at the Nike Camp held in Columbus, Ohio. Since then Howard is getting his game back on track.

One of the top projected prospects in the Class of 2013 from Ohio is Dayton (Ohio) Chaminade Julienne High School middle linebacker Darrien Howard. However, a couple of weeks ago it looked like Howard would have to make a position change by putting his hand on the ground when he checked in at about 260-pounds at the Nike Camp held in Columbus, Ohio.

On Sunday, Howard took part in the Martin Bayless/Will Allen Football Camp and showed up having dropped about 15-pounds in the past two weeks. The weight loss helped Howard look more like the projected prospect many watched since he started his high school year as a freshman starter.

During drills Howard looked quicker and more like the player we've seen in the past as compared to the more sluggish one that showed up at the Nike event. According to Howard he is not stopping with his current loss and is looking to drop another 10-15-pound in the coming weeks as he gets back to work with offseason conditioning.

Camp season is starting to get into gear and Michigan State has stopped at Dayton CJ to check in on Howard.
