"I've liked Michigan State since I was a kid. I know Michigan State won a share of the Big Ten last year and I know Alabama smashed them in the bowl game. But I also know they had a pretty good season last year."
As Spartan fans know, the loss of a couple of linebackers after last season means MSU is looking to bolster its depth at the position for the future. Morrison sees a great chance to fulfill his goals of being a four year player at the college level.
"They are recruiting me as a linebacker. I know all about Greg Jones. Coach (Mike) Tressel was telling me about how Greg played all four years at Michigan State and he feels I have a great opportunity to also play all four years. So that is pretty good and something that makes me interested in Michigan State."
While the Spartans may have come a little late, they are not out of the picture.
"I've got about 25-30 offers and I have some of the big ones listed on Scout.com. Michigan State is now going to be high. I'm not going to say it's late, but this is like a late time to offer me. However, they are now high on my list as they are only about 3-hours away from me. So they are going to be high on my list. I'm going to try and visit there this summer. "
What are some of the things Antonio is looking for in a school?
"I'm looking for somewhere that has a great program and a great atmosphere and some place I can play early and live."
Keeping the Spartans in the game has been offensive coordinator Dan Roushar and linebacker coach Mike Tressel.
"I've spoken with Coach (Dan) Roushar. He and my high school coach are talking about me all the time. I also talk with Coach Tressel as well."
So was Antonio surprised the Spartans finally made an offer?
"Not really surprised as they have been telling me they wanted to get me on campus to talk with Coach Dantonio so he can offer me. I thought that was kind of weird, and if they were going to offer me they were going to offer me. But yesterday, my coach got a call from Coach Roushar asking what they had to do to get me on campus for a visit and if they had to offer me I had an offer."
How often did Antonio watch the Spartans this past season?
"I watched them against Penn State and Northwestern. I can see myself in their defense. Coach Tressel has told me I could play all four linebacker positions in their defense and I like how they allow their linebackers to flow and keep offensive lineman off you."
As for when he's looking to make a decision, Antonio is in no hurry.
"I have no timeline right now. I'm just trying to see some schools and find the right place for me and when I do that's going to be when I make my decision."
So with all these offers, what schools are at the top of the list now?
With East Lansing being the closer than all the others schools listed. Will distance play a factor in his decision?
"Distance is no problem as my family is with me no matter where I decide to go. They just want to see me succeed."
