Reda Enjoyed Spartan Experience

One of the more under the radar prospects in Ohio is Reno Reda. Last week the Ohio defensive end camped at Michigan State. We caught up with him to get the latest.

At 6-foot-5, 230-pounds, Reno Reda of Pataskala (Ohio) Watkins Memorial High School has the size college programs look for. However, he's yet to receive his first scholarship offer. That might soon change after Reda camped at Michigan State for two days.

How did he like his Spartan experience?

"I really enjoyed it a lot and learned so much there from the coaches. There was a lot of good competition and it was awesome to work with a coach like Coach (Ted) Gill who is so well respected."

While Reno did not pick up a scholarship offer from the Spartans, he knows he may have helped his stock with other college programs in attendance.

"The Michigan State coaches were great and told me to keep working and gave me some pointers to take back with me. There were some other schools there as well and I feel I performed well enough to catch their attention."

With a father who played college ball at Ohio, Reda knows he's got the complete package as he also excels in the classroom.

"I've got a 3.9 GPA and scored a 24 on the ACT. I'm looking for a school with a solid education program as I plan on going into medicine after college. I would like to stay within four hours from home if possible."
