2011 Spartan 66 Ranking: #66

The Michigan State Spartans won a share of the Big Ten title in 2010. Last year, SpartanDigest.com looked in-depth at sixty-six Spartans and their importance to the team's success. We look at 66 Spartans as 1966 was the last time MSU won a National Championship. It is now time to start looking at 2011 with player #66.

Connor Cook

SD 2011 Ranking: #66

Position: Quarterback

Experience: High School Recruit

Strengths: Smart and solid athlete

Weakness: Experience

We had to add Connor to this list just in case of any injuries to the Spartans quarterback position. While all roads lead to Connor being a redshirt, any injuries to Kirk Cousins or Andrew Maxwell could push him into a back-up role before he's ready.

Overall: Connor is a solid future player for the Spartans and this fall should see him running scout team duties. Watching and learning from a player like Kirk Cousins will go a long way in his development and next spring will find him taking more important snaps.

Why He Made The List: Just in case of injury you have to place Connor in the Spartan 66 list for this season. In other years he would not even be listed. However, he is one injury away from being pushed into a back-up role.
